Hot afternoon in Milan, I couldn’t go out because it was still too warm so I started to look on Ryanair website and there I found an irresistible deal:
A flight from Milan Bergamo to Copenhagen, Friday to Monday, for just 30 Euro both ways. Amazing.
Copenhagen Airport
There are a lot of ways to get from the airport to the city centre: Bus, Train or even Metro (or taxi of couse). In this case the price could really increase a lot based on your choice.
I choose the metro because it had just the best time/price ratio. You could get in the train station of Kongens Nytorv and immerse yourself in the city, in less than 30 minutes for just 35 DKK (4,70 euro).
Money
In Denmark the official money is the Danish Krone, 10 DKK are about 1,35 euros. My advice, don’t even change money, Denmark is one of that magical countries where you could pay everywhere with your card. If you really like to pay with cash my suggestion is to use Revolut.
Public transport
I used it just to arrive in the city centre, Copenhagen it is the perfect place to have a walk or to ride a bike. You could get almost everywhere in the city without taking buses or metro.
All the main attraction in the city are about at 30-40 minutes walking maximum.
Food
Avoid all that are along the Nyhavn, because there you could find just tourist traps, that offers low quality and high prices. I suggest you to visit the street food court next to the Opera House, you may find something really good. If you would to stay more on budget (because even a sandwich you could spend more than 10 euro) the city centre is plenty of Supermarket with some take away food.
What to see
Walk straight from the Nyhavn to the Opera and enjoy all the bridges and the canals.
The other must see are the Castle, the University zone and, of course, the Christiania neighbourhood.
Avoid Tivoli. Even if it could look nice it’s definitely not worth.
Tip: Don’t rush. Just enjoy the city.
If you will get bored, because you didn’t follow my last tip, my advice is to take a FlixBus and to get to Malmö it takes only 1 hour to get there for less than 5 euro, one way. (The train takes 35 euro and costs 12 euro one way)
