FICO Eataly World: Opening Review. Is it worth the visit?

The 15 of November 2017, the first and the biggest Afri-Food amusement park in the world will open its door to the public.

100000 square feet meters of biodiversity, Italian food and traditions. I had the opportunity to attend the press launch event of last week, here is a short Eataly World Review:

Eatalyworld review

What is Eataly World (FICO)?

At the entrance of the park, you can read “In the world, there are 1200 variety of Apples, 1000 of them are in Italy”

That’s why EatalyWorld is born, to create the biggest amusement park, exclusively dedicated to food and agriculture, in Italy where it belongs.

I can describe the park in three simple words: Organic, Sustainable, Italian. Why? Because everything, inside the park, is focused on these three aspects.

The goal is to put together, the incredible Italian biodiversity, in 10 Hectares of space in the city of Bologna.

In which you could find:

  • 40 factories, where to learn how the most famous Italian products are made;
  • More than 45 Restaurants or Food points where to enjoy any kind of Food: Pizza, Pasta, Gelato, Cheese etc…
  • Food Shops and Markets;
  • Sports areas with 2 Tennis fields, and a beach volley arena;
  • Reading and relaxing Areas;
  • 6 Classrooms, where to learn how to do the food by yourself;
  • 6 Carousels that will bring you inside the history of the food and its relation to the human being, starting from the past and going to the future;
  • A cinema and a Theatre

and a lot more is coming…

Outside, behind every section, there are the crops and farms where to admire an impressive variety of olive trees and vines but also lots of species of animals and vegetables.

Why visit Eataly World?

If your passion is the food, or if you are just curious this is an occasion to learn about this beautiful world.

Inside Eatalyworld, you will have the possibility to follow different workshops and courses, from pasta or olive oil making to how to take perfect photos of your food.

The park is located 15 minutes of bus away from Bologna, and it easily reachable without having a car, trough special bus that are leaving every 15 minutes from Bologna Central Station.

The entrance is free, but there are some attractions and workshop that should be booked before. A single workshop usually costs around 20 Euro, meanwhile the entrance to the 6 carousels it’s only 10 euro person (30 euro for 2 adults + 2 kids).

The visit may take up to 6 hours. Especially if you would like to enjoy a good glass of wine or to visit the exclusive cocktail bar, with only Italian ingredients. 😉

If you are planning to visit Bologna, I think Eataly World it is worthed the visit:

From the basic agriculture to the advanced product transformation, inside FICO you’ll have the possibility to immerse yourself in a unique food experience.

Are you enough FICO (cool)? Visit Eataly World!
