The products of this Barcelona-based brand, which I have already had the opportunity to try, are made from recycled materials by means of a low-emission process. A couple of months ago, I was given the opportunity to test this backpack. What is the best way to test it if not an “on the field” review? So I took it in my Iceland in Tent adventure, in my Wadi Rum adventure, and much more. Here you can find what are my impressions after those trips with this backpack:
The Tropicfeel Shell is made from entirely recycled materials and the product feels very sturdy and well constructed.
In short, the materials, even if recycled, are definitely ready for many more adventures! One more point in favor of Tropicfeel Shell: the challenge proposed by the company. In fact, producing using 100% recycled materials in such a historical period is a real gamble. In this way, even if you spend a little more, you can say that you have done something for the planet. Not bad, is it?
Overall, the backpack adapts well to all conditions, even the harshest, and the materials do not seem to fear wear and tear or weather. Final response: Very positive!
Comfortable, practical, and versatile. But if I have to be picky, I would have liked a pocket to quickly retrieve my camera (peak design style in short)!
I have tried many travel backpacks in my life, some even better organized. On the other hand, however, none of those were as versatile as the Tropicfeel Shell. In fact, some were too small, some specifically backpacks for photographers while this one seems to be the only one designed as a smart carry-on, easily convertible but most importantly: modular. In fact, one of the coolest features of this backpack is Tropicfeel’s new internal organization system, allowing you to divide it to your liking with complete customization.
What to say. As already told Tropicfeel I hope for an even better version 2.0!
As mentioned at the beginning of the review, my Tropicfeel Shell has accompanied me on many adventures, from Iceland to Jordan to various city breaks.
What to say? From the cold and rain of northern Iceland to the desert of Wadi Rum, I have never had a problem!
In fact, this travel backpack is even waterproof, making it suitable for all weather conditions. Not only that, even moving it around during long hikes and walks you won’t feel it (of course it depends a lot on the weight you are carrying) and it always remains quite comfortable and firmly on your shoulders. If only there was that famous extra pocket…
I fully understand that many people consider the travel backpack a simple accessory, but trust me when you’ll be using it for a long time its comfort/usability you will consider spending more in order to get what is really comfortable for you.
But if you are like me, and you live with your backpack for most of the year. The Shell is neither the most expensive nor the cheapest of many other travel backpacks. However, when we consider the quality of the materials and the attention to detail, it is a 100% correct price! Indeed, the complete bundles with all the accessories are very tempting at that price. What to say in such cases? Watch out for deals, you might get a real bargain!
